A few {very few} of my favorites

Have I been away forever or what?  This summer has been so enlightening, fun, HOT and super busy for me and Deirdre Ann Photography!  I did want to say that I have not jumped ship but I’m still clickin’ on and have some really exciting things coming up for the latter half of 2011 (believe it or not, the holidays are right around the corner) that I’m sharing in mid August.  Of course I wouldn’t post with at a few images which are some of, and I mean a very small amount, my favorite captures.  Share on my facebook page some of your favorite images from this summer too! I’d love to see them.

OpLove {H} Family Homecoming

This past weekend I had the honor of photographing a military homecoming for the {H} family.  Wow.  What an emotional and exciting experience for the family and me (OpLove is an non-profit organization where photographers volunteer their time for military homecomings and deployments)! Being an OpLove photographer is my small way of saying thanks to the men and women who serve our country so fearlessly spending weeks and months away from their family and loved ones serving our country.  I was contacted by Mrs. {H} to photograph Mr. {H} homecoming in early June at NAS Jax.  Mr. {H} was coming home from a 6 month deployment and their son {E} was over the moon with excitement as he waited for his Daddy to come home.  Photographing their homecoming and being able to capture their emotions was truly a remarkable experience and I cannot wait to do photograph another OpLove family – Go TIGERS!

Scott and Marsha are M-A-R-R-I-E-D!

I love weddings. I also love photographing weddings. There is so much excitement and anticipation it is undeniably an exciting time for guests, the wedding party, family and of course the bride and groom.  Whether I’m one of the above or the one to be behind the scenes, watching everyone come together and celebrate the couples unions, it’s a magical time.  This past weekend I was asked to capture a small and intimate wedding for close out of town guests.  Not only did I get to capture their special day but also became friends with the couple who are the most sincere and down to earth people I have come across in a long time.   Marsha and Scott, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your special day and I wish you many many years of love and smiles!!

Mother’s Day in Saint Augustine 2011

I had an perfect Mother’s Day, and hope you all did too!  My husband, son and I drove down to Marineland to see the dolphins, which is south of Crescent Beach here in Florida, my my mom, aunt, and friend.  It’s always fun hanging out, and being, my my mom and aunt.  While we were visiting the dolphins,  I was able to see up close just how beautiful they are.   My just stood against the glass watching them swim, jump, and eat fish that was fed to them by the trainers.  As my mom and I talked to the trainer to get the inside scoop on Marineland’s training facility and learn more about dolphins, I was able to take a few pictures of the dolphins showing off for the crowd.

After spending the early part of Sunday in Marineland, we drove up to Saint Augustine and pretended to be tourists for the afternoon.  Ross, my son, had been asking to ride the trolley FOREVER, well forever is a long time for a 5 year old, so we decided to do it and took the ride.  We learned a lot of the history the city had to offer and know what the best part was?  Ross and I playing chinese fire drill.  I’ll admit it, what’s a ride without a chinese fire drill, right?  Below is a picture of me and Ross on the trolley. :)

Love that little guy and he reminds me everyday what a gift he is each and everyday.  That, my friends, is the best Mother’s Day gift ever.

A few from the latest mini session

Sunday was a perfect day for Deirdre Ann Photography’s Easter Mini Session.  The weather was perfect, the chicks were a great hit (and surprisingly docile!  I was half expecting them to run out of the shot)  and the children were so cute and excited to hold the little yellow fluff balls.  The mini session was a huge success and I cannot wait to offer them again soon!

So proud.

I had made a promise to myself. That promise was that I would use my blog to talk primarily about Deirdre Ann Photography and the haps with mine, and others, photography.  But there’s always an exception, right?

My baby brother Mark left a few weeks ago for bootcamp in Northern Illinois.  Him leaving and actually choosing a career path didn’t really have to much of an affect on me, until he left.  Although there is a few years difference between us, he’s my baby brother and will always be special to me.   So, in honor of my little brother Mark, I’m dedicating this post to him.  Andy (aka husband) decided to tell him, and every one of my readers, visitors, friends, cronies, etc, just what we’re thinking. Although there is so many words to describe how excited and honored we are to have him defend our country and freedom (but there’s only so much space in a black chalk board).

So Markie, this is for you! We love you very much and are so happy and honored to have you as a brother and most importantly, we cannot wait to see you soon. xoxo

Valentine’s Day 2011

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I thought I’d share, actually couldn’t wait to share, some of my most recent boudoir session images.  Lady {C} was so easy to work with and made the time we had fly by.  She was such much fun to photograph and I think we laughed and giggle through out the entire shoot.  I love my job.

Baby A. 15 days young

I had the pleasure of meeting baby girl A this past weekend.  She was such a sweet and delicate baby girl.  Newborns have to be, hands down, one of my favorite to photograph.  They just have the sweetest and most pure innocence to them and it just makes me melt.

Baby A wasn’t a very sleepy girl for her photography debut but we were able to capture beautiful shots just the same.  Enjoy!

Holiday Fun

The holidays can get crazy.  And expensive.  Sometimes there’s not enough to do the things you want to do for the people that you care about and who are close to you.  So, I decided to open up my home, for brunch, to a few of my close neighbors who also have children that my son plays with regularly in our neighborhood.  I also have been wanting to do a photo booth photo session and thought it would be a perfect opportunity to have one!  It was so much fun and the kids had no idea what I was having them do, they just went with it :)
