It’s a Greeting Card Type of Day

I love homemade cards. I’ll admit I like cutting paper and using markers and stamps, but let’s be honest, I do not have the time. Sad story, I know ;) Personal confession coming: I love shopping.  I love shopping online. Pursuing through different blogs for ideas, stores and inspirations should be a paying job as far as I’m concerned.

Ponte Vedra, Florida – {A} Family Photos

Hi everyone! I want to wish you a belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  November and December seemed to disappear in a blink of an eye for me – Naturally the months proceeding Christmas are a busy time for family photographs, and I want to send a special thank you to all of my clients in 2011 :) I am excited to share a few of the images from the {A} Family beach photo session.  I met Michelle at an event I was doing a photo-booth at for my son’s school.  The stars were aligned that night for us to meet as she was the BEST volunteer I’ve ever met!  She became my public relations coordinate for for Deirdre Ann Photography, and hands down an awesome one.  We hit it off and I was thrilled when she mentioned that her family was needing their holiday pictures done and asked if I was available. Uhhh YEAH! I’d love to!

Michelle had chosen Mickler Beach in Ponte Vedra for their family session. The day was perfect: warm, not too humid, the children looked so adorable in their holiday outfits and the beach crowd was minimal. Sounds like a perfect early December day to hit the beach for some photos to me!!  Thank you so much to the {A} Family for asking me to be their photographer! It was an honor!

{M} Family Holiday Photos

I’ve had the pleasure to photography the {M} family again for the second year in a row. YAY!  When a family asks me to photograph them multiple times, it’s the best compliment in the world!  Last year they asked for a beach session which was a lot of fun.  This year they wanted their photos a little bit more low key and decided to have their session done within their neighborhood.  I cannot be more pleased with their photos and cannot wait to share them with the family.

Whoever said that mailing yearly updates to friends and family had to be done only during holidays, and that yearly chore mailing was during the month of December? Probably one of the people that live with the box :) Which is understandable because I can totally be one of those people!  When I was asked to design a card for one of my photography clients (and a dear dear friend) I was all for it!  Then she asked if I would be able to design a “Thankful” card, I again, I was all for it.  I have been waiting on pins and needles for her to hurry up and  mail/deliver their photo card I thought I might accidently slip and share with you before she was able to put a stamp on the last envelope…but alas, I have the green light to share {sigh}.

** 2011 MINI  SESSIONS **

Session #1: $125

Session #1 – 25 Minute Mini Session includes:

  • Mix of posed and natural family shots
  • Individual shots of children if desired, mix of posed/natural depending on age
  •  Final edited images posted to an online gallery for you to proof and order ala carte
  • Two (2) medium-resolution JPEG digital image of your choice that will be emailed to you for your personal use or holiday cards.

PLUS a $30 credit that you can use towards mini gift books, image discs or holiday cards.

  • Mini Gift Books
  • Mini Session Image Discs (All images from session, printable up to 8×10 with copyright release.)
  • Holiday Cards – I will post info on the 2011 cards soon.

Session #2: $90

  • Mix of posed and natural family shots
  • Individual shots of children if desired, mix of posed/natural depending on age
  •  Final edited images posted to an online gallery for you to proof and order ala carte
  • One (1) medium-resolution JPEG digital image of your choice that will be emailed to you for your personal use or holiday cards.

Mini Session Details/FAQ:

  • Mini sessions last 25 minutes and are ideal for smaller families or updated portraits of the kids – perfect for getting the latest family picture for your holiday cards! I can actually take quite a few shots in that time frame and try to get as many posed and natural looking shots as possible in that time frame. I move quickly, so please ensure you arrive 10 minutes before you session starts so we can get going on time. We cannot make up time on the back-end.
  • Mini sessions are limited to families of 5 or smaller. If you have a larger family, I recommend you book two back to back sessions (50 minutes) so we can accomplish all the different shots typically needed for larger families.
  • Sessions are booked on a first come, first serve basis. All bookings do require a $50 deposit to hold your spot. The balance will be collected at the prior to your session. When you book, I will send you a contract, more details, tips for what to wear and shoot location.
  • There are 2 session options.  Session #2 ($90) does not include the $30 a la carte credit.
  • The digital images (Session #1) will include three (3) medium resolution image of your choice that we will email to you after you choose it from your gallery. Medium res files can be printed up to 8×10 but not any larger, pixilation will occur. The session also includes a $30 credit that you can apply towards the entire disc from your session (printable files for personal use up to 8×10 in size), holiday cards, or other unique gift products such as these perfect mini accordion gift books. They come 3 to a pack (for $90) and make the perfect gift for grandparents, aunt/uncles and more!

Marina & Web are W-E-D!

Recently I was asked to photograph Marina & Web’s beach wedding.  They were the CUTEST couple from Texas and their children were pretty darn cute too!  They decided to have an intimate ceremony on the beach in Ponte Vedra.  They chose the beach because when Web was growing up they used to vacation along Florida’s coastline and he always had fond memories of his family’s summer fun at the beach.  Marina said she knew the beach was the perfect place for her wedding as she knows she will someday trade in her cowgirl boots for the Florida sun and laid back beach life.  Marina and Web, I wish you all the happiest in your new life together!!

Prince {E} is here!

Recently I was in Virginia hosting a baby shower for one of my besties.  Now I know everyone says besties. But {A} is really one of my dearest, most true, and as cliche as it sounds, soul friend.  We’ve been friends ever since she moved into my neighborhood where I grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia.  {A} was my P.I.C. (partner-in-crime.). We were inseparable from the first day we met at my house when she came over with another friend of ours.  She knew that I would be there always for her, and I knew she would always be there for me, no matter the distance or time between us.  So fast forward many years through college, marriage, me moving to Florida her moving to northern Virginia, and it brings us to the present which is the reason for my blog post.  {A} gave birth just last week, and four weeks early, to a healthy and beautiful baby boy, Ethan Wesley, nicknamed Prince {E}.  Unfortunately I’m not able to meet, hold and properly introduce myself to him just yet but I am definitely counting down the days until I am able.  I am so excited for the newest member of Momma {A} and Daddy {B}’s family and I wish nothing but happiness and lots of laughter for you three!!

Have I been away forever or what?  This summer has been so enlightening, fun, HOT and super busy for me and Deirdre Ann Photography!  I did want to say that I have not jumped ship but I’m still clickin’ on and have some really exciting things coming up for the latter half of 2011 (believe it or not, the holidays are right around the corner) that I’m sharing in mid August.  Of course I wouldn’t post with at a few images which are some of, and I mean a very small amount, my favorite captures.  Share on my facebook page some of your favorite images from this summer too! OpLove {H} Family Homecoming

This past weekend I had the honor of photographing a military homecoming for the {H} family.  Wow.  What an emotional and exciting experience for the family and me (OpLove is an non-profit organization where photographers volunteer their time for military homecomings and deployments)! Being an OpLove photographer is my small way of saying thanks to the men and women who serve our country so fearlessly spending weeks and months away from their family and loved ones serving our country.  I was contacted by Mrs. {H} to photograph Mr. {H} homecoming in early June at NAS Jax.  Mr. {H} was coming home from a 6 month deployment and their son {E} was over the moon with excitement as he waited for his Daddy to come home.  Photographing their homecoming and being able to capture their emotions was truly a remarkable experience and I cannot wait to do photograph another OpLove family – Go TIGERS!

Scott and Marsha are M-A-R-R-I-E-D!

I love weddings. I also love photographing weddings. There is so much excitement and anticipation it is undeniably an exciting time for guests, the wedding party, family and of course the bride and groom.  Whether I’m one of the above or the one to be behind the scenes, watching everyone come together and celebrate the couples unions, it’s a magical time.  This past weekend I was asked to capture a small and intimate wedding for close out of town guests.  Not only did I get to capture their special day but also became friends with the couple who are the most sincere and down to earth people I have come across in a long time.   Marsha and Scott, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your special day and I wish you many many years of love and smiles!!
